great jeans, just not for me.
These jeans have a fantastic design and are of great quality. I give them five stars even though they didn't work for me. I am 5'9" and a standard hourglass (28"-40") and purchased a size medium to accommodate my hip measurement. The waist, unfortunately, was very large by comparison (4-5" gap), so much so that I could not cinch them tight enough with a belt. A smaller size might work, but with my body type, I would lose the relaxed cut in the hip/leg. I highly recommend them if you have the body type they're designed for.

Spell certainly do make a flattering comfy jean. I always get compliments on my spell denim. The cut is amazing. The denim suits my body shape (hour glass).
