Every year Spelly, Lizzy and I sit down together to dream up a way to celebrate our amazing team that create all the magic behind the scenes at Spell.
We’ve had some pretty incredible celebrations – from camping out down the road in Suffolk park, to surprising the team with a weekend in the Whitsundays, to dinner parties and endless dancing under the stars… It’s so important for us to share in these moments to reflect on the year that’s been, connect with each other, and well – let our hair down and have some fun with the people we work so hard with every single day.
So for 2019, we decided to take the entire team to Elements of Byron, for an overnight stay and celebration. Having a mini staycation just a stones throw from HQ was the best! The team loved hanging by the pool in the afternoon, getting dolled up together (how fun is getting ready with your girls?! It’s all those moments between that make these memories so special), and having a beautiful dinner overlooking the bay.
It’s become a bit of a tradition to have oracle readers at our Xmas party, and it always creates a beautiful depth to the evening as people drop into the space with a slightly more open heart. We also had the beautiful women from Eye of Horus joining us for make up touch ups and making us feel like goddesses, and we gifted everyone a Lack of Colour hat with custom embroidery by our girl Anita.
Our very own customer care angel Kim is one half of DJ duo In the Flowers and always brings the best vibe! So once the sun had set and the plates were cleared we danced our way into the night to groovy tunes.
This event set up has to be one of my favourite ever – I know I say that every time, but REALLY the setting was so magical – the pictures don’t even do it justice! Spelly nearly cried when she walked in because she was so blown away by how special it felt! We were so lucky to work with Marie from Frank & Joy who helped bring our vision to life with her amazing hire range. Nikki from Nikau created the most breathtaking hanging floral arrangements, North Coast Events went above and beyond to add some sparkle to the evening through their lighting and AV, and we were lucky enough to be the first ever event in the new stretch tent from Events Party Hire.
